About

The Institute tailors learning exchanges, seminars, workshops, webinars, podcasts and teach-ins to inform best-practices, fuel healthy debate and encourage innovation in any setting. Working within a larger ecosystem of cooperative organizations, master-teachers and educators, the institute also meets the needs of people working in corporate, not-for-profit or faith-based institutions through a variety of retreats and curated team experiences.

Our Approach

Transformative Learning

The Institute engages with  transformative learning theory, and focuses on perspective transformation: psychological (changes in understanding of the self), convictional (revision of belief systems), and behavioral (changes in ways of being).

Inclusive Change

Our approach explores methods to rebalance and restore the self and incorporates a broader socio-ecological perspective.  The Institute’s diversity of offerings share a common foundation of immersion in transformational processes practiced in diverse ways, and involve shared experiences of reconnection with self, other beings, ancestors, and the broader environment. The Institute equips individuals, organizations and institutions with the knowledge and specific tools to achieve true inclusion along each individual or institutions’ diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) journey while building culture and building the capacity of leaders and managers to lead long-term sustainability.

Liberatory Data

The Institute provides a framework and process for engaging in hands-on learning, developing tools to assess and measure individual, collective and institutional transformation, diving deep into community driven data and analysis, that elevates community expertise and supports self determination.

How We Work

All workshops are facilitated by experts in their fields. We use adult learning techniques and learning approaches specific to our audiences. The Institute uses participatory pedagogy such as interactive exercises, role-play, and case studies, to maximize significant skill transfer and increase the benefit to the participants and your corporation. Sessions also tap into the experience and wisdom that is brought to the workshops by the participants, enabling significant peer learning within the workshop process.
Processes

Through specific and in-depth curricula, participants will have a greater understanding of the individual, relational, social, cultural, environmental, historical, and persistent environmental factors that influence the spectrum of discrimination that impacts people’s lives.

Practitioners

Training together can build understanding and consensus among teams.  Participants who learn together can support one another in problem-solving and decision-making.

Partners

Training can be customized to meet the needs of your organization, institution or population. You get to work with the Institute faculty in shaping the content of the workshops to ensure that outcomes match your goals.
