Mobile Services
Mobile Services for Equity
Today, Black Women’s Blueprint addresses systemic challenges and works towards racial equity and social justice in several capacities. Within our framework, we place the power, opportunities, and access to health equity into the hands of those most impacted by violence and maternal morbidity. Through our mobile services, we are bringing services and resources to those at the margins who otherwise face a multitude of intersectional barriers to life-saving interventions.
Community Mutual Aid
We are providing community-based, mutual aid support through emergency food, farming and food justice programs, reproductive and economic justice services. We mobilize Sistas Van, a fully wheelchair-accessible Mobile Healing Unit, an all-gender affirming space, providing mobile crisis and community outreach, deploying mental health clinicians and linking to on-going healing services. Sistas Van is where the general public can either give or receive PPE, toiletry kits, menstrual products, clothing and other items.
Veggie Van
Through Farmers for the People (CNY to NYC Food Connect), we bring New York farm-fresh food to people in need and bridge the gap regionally between people and fresh food. We reconnect young people and others to land, herbalism and natural food. Providing New York grown food to New York communities, not only benefits in being freshly picked and local, but it also builds environmental care and protection by lessening our food system’s carbon footprint building a local bridge between our rural and urban neighbors.
